Known as one of the quieter corners of Saigon for its lighter population and greenery, Thao Dien is an ideal place for a short-time retreat whenever the local people need to break free from their life.

In the street of Thao Dien, you can see the people slowly pedaling from place to place, just enjoying their time. If you happen to have a free day at Thao Dien, why not join along with them and have yourself the simple pleasure of moving through this lovely area on 2 wheels?

Located in a restored old mansion just 200 meters from the hotel, this cafe and restaurant has been one of our favorites when we need a brunch for our lazy mornings. This place not only has a green surroundings and stylish atmosphere, but also offers Sydney inspired dishes made from healthy ingredients. A great place to start your slow morning here in Thao Dien.

The heat is getting intense, why not cool it down with an authentic Italian Gelato right in the middle of Thao Dien? Located in a quiet neighborhood with many stylish cafes and stores, Ralf's Gelato is our favorite place to get a treat during summer time. Their fascinating flavors and buttery melting texture have nourished the childish passion in us for ice cream, no matter how old we have become.

After cooling down, we know a spot to help you ease the hunger as well as the burning heat. Just 1km away, you will encounter a store complex where Kashew Cheese is located. You heard it right, cheese made from Cashews. Under the lush green trees, you can enjoy plant-based artisan cheese meals made from Vietnamese cashew nuts that are good for your taste buds, your health as well as the environment.

6 PM: The Deck Saigon

When the sunset hour is near, there is a place where you can come and enjoy a cold drink with amazing food, especially sea food right next to the Saigon river. This riverside bar and restaurant is accessible by bicycle because it's only 1,3 KM away from the hotel, but we recommend booking a spot in advance to get yourself the best view.

Note: Since it's located in a quiet neighborhood, we do not recommend you go back from The Deck late at night for safety reasons, if you want to take your time, you can always ask us for support if you need a shuttle ride.
